In a tranquil, unspoilt hamlet, this romantic thatched cottage (all of property left of right chimney) enjoys glorious views across farmland towards Forde Abbey. Cosy, very comfortable and full of character, it is set on the Dorset, Devon and Somerset border – an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of the South West. Lyme Regis, with its sandy beach, elegant Sidmouth, and Honiton’s antique shops and street market are all within 10 miles. The area affords excellent walking, there are golf courses nearby and NT properties within easy reach. Yeovil and Taunton, 20 miles. Shop 1.5 miles, pub/restaurants 3 miles.

One bedroom. Lovely beamed sitting room with dining area and inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. Small kitchen (low ceiling). First floor: Attractive beamed double bedroom with four poster bed and ensuite bathroom/WC (shower over bath).

Yes - the cottage is very well equipped and in a very peaceful setting. Definitely a place to stay to get away from everything. This is our third time at the cottage which is well situated to visit many towns and villages.

The cottage is lovely - in a secluded little hamlet, it has everything you need for a perfect, quaint little getaway including log fire, comfy sofa and generally beautifully maintained. The location is great in terms of the proximity to the coast for rambles on the Coast Trail and strolls around Lyme Regis (and I'm sure other areas). You will need a car.

Inland on your holiday in Dorset you can enjoy the rolling hills that are so characteristic of the county and explore what has become known as “Thomas Hardy Country”.
The county town of Dorchester, with its High Street lined with 17th and 18th Century houses, is little changed from Hardy’s day, while the pretty town of Shaftesbury has been used as a location in countless films set in Olde England.
